Pearl river estuary stands for pearl river’s drainage area nearby the ocean, including Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Dongguan and Zhongshan. Large area of natural mangrove were distributed in Pearl river estuary in history, but the mangrove resources was destroyed to different extent because of social-economic fast development. Taking the mangrove wetland in Pearl River estuary as a whole, the basic thoughts on conservation project was raised. The mangrove wetland conservation and restoration project aims for resuming the ecological function of mangrove wetland, biodiversity conservation, improving ecological environment and increasing the resisting natural disasters such as typhoon, tsunami and red tide.
